Trump orders U.S. government to call AI “Super Intelligence”

Media reports say President Donald Trump signed an executive order directing the U.S. executive branch to use the term “Super Intelligence” in official websites, policy documents, and press releases instead of “artificial intelligence” or “AI,” and that agencies won’t be required to rewrite past regulations. The announcement followed a White House luncheon with tech CEOs and included public remarks referencing Xi Jinping, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, and Elon Musk.

Top AI leaders — including Google’s Sundar Pichai, Anthropic’s Dario Amodei, Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg, OpenAI’s Greg Brockman, XAI’s Elon Musk, and Nvidia’s Jensen Huang — signed a voluntary agreement titled the Joint Commitment On Frontier Responsibilities. The document lists four broad measures (internal controls, empowered internal teams, independent external auditors, and a board oversight committee) to monitor frontier model capabilities and proposes that these practices could later be codified into law; it sets no specified penalties for noncompliance.

Google DeepMind says Gemini 4 is in refinement and nearing release

In his first media interview as DeepMind leader, Koray Kavukcuoglu said Gemini 4 is in a refinement stage and that Google aims to release an early post-training output 'much earlier' than the end of 2026. The comments follow a leadership change at DeepMind and come after Google’s last flagship, Gemini 3 (Nov 2025); competitors OpenAI (GPT-6) and Anthropic (Mythos) have released newer models.
