Apple to tighten macOS 'Full Disk Access' controls citing AI agent risks
Apple announced it will introduce additional controls for the macOS ‘Full Disk Access’ permission after reports that desktop AI agents (including claims about Meta’s Muse and a Wired story about ChatGPT’s Mac app) highlighted risks of apps accessing files, messages and other personal data. The company says it will require very explicit user actions before granting this high level of access and has posted guidance for developers.
