AHRR: LLM agents using HLS plus RTL refinement improve chip-design performance
A new arXiv paper (arXiv:2609.21157v1) evaluates workflows for LLM-based chip design and introduces AHRR (Agent-based HLS with RTL Refinement), which combines agent-driven high-level synthesis (HLS) design with post-HLS RTL refinement. On an 11-task FPGA benchmark suite the authors report a 2.6× geometric-mean speedup over Direct RTL Design; code and evaluation artifacts are available at the provided GitHub repository.
