P-ContextBench: benchmark for personal-context understanding by LLMs (arXiv:2610.40959v1)

P-ContextBench is a realistic, verifiable, and scalable benchmark that evaluates how well LLMs understand and use fragmented, private personal context by constructing population-structured, life-story-grounded digital humans and embedding traits across synthetic mobile-app records. The arXiv submission (arXiv:2610.40959v1) instantiates 100 personas with 10,088 hidden facts, 18,261 app-trace fragments, and 4,810 verified test cases across five capabilities (single- and multi-source fact recovery, temporal state tracking, higher-level pattern inference, and constraint-aware safety decisions), and reports that state-of-the-art models perform poorly on several of these tasks (below ~60% on some capabilities and under 10% of cases answered correctly across key combined tasks).

KEY POINTS

  1. P-ContextBench is a realistic, verifiable, and scalable benchmark that evaluates how well LLMs understand and use fragmented, private personal context by constructing population-structured, life-story-grounded digital humans and embedding traits across synthetic mobile-app records.
  3. Provides a realistic, scalable benchmark that exposes significant weaknesses in LLMs’ handling of private, fragmented personal context and gives measurable targets for improving personal-agent safety and reliability.
