Reinforcement-learning digital twin framework for warehouse product-placement optimization (arXiv:2610.38101v1)
A new arXiv preprint (arXiv:2610.38101v1) proposes a framework that integrates a reinforcement-learning agent with a FlexSim-based digital twin and the Asset Administration Shell to perform real-time product-placement (dynamic slotting) in a four-zone, forklift-handled warehouse. The authors report experimental simulation gains of a 29.66% reduction in average picking time, a 35.42% increase in throughput, and an 18.54% decrease in travel distance.
