IE-Prop: interaction-conditioned risk estimation for LLM-based multi-agent systems

A new arXiv preprint (arXiv:2610.33282v1) proposes Interaction-Effect Propagation (IE-Prop), a model that estimates downstream error risk in LLM-based multi-agent systems by learning separate interaction effects conditioned on whether upstream agents are correct, combining them with sender error probabilities, and recursively propagating risk through execution graphs. Evaluated on three multi-agent architectures and three benchmarks, IE-Prop raises final-node AUROC by about 0.05 on average, with an additional ~0.03 AUROC gain from multi-step risk tracking in sequential systems.

  3. This introduces an interaction-conditioned propagation model showing that realized sender-receiver interactions add predictive value for downstream error risk, which matters for reliability and monitoring of LLM multi-agent pipelines.
