Pennsylvania enacts law requiring labels on AI-generated ads
Governor Josh Shapiro signed the Artificial Intelligence Deceptive Advertising Act, which requires any ad — still image, video, audio, or text — that is "significantly modified or generated by artificial intelligence" to include a label in the same format as the ad. The law applies regardless of where an ad was created but includes carve-outs for parody, satire, commentary and "evidently fictional" content and leaves vague terms (e.g., "significantly modified" and what constitutes a "false consumer perception").
