Google updates privacy policy to allow Gmail, Drive and Photos data to feed personalized ads via AI features
On Oct. 16 Google added an exception to its privacy policy saying users who make data from Gmail, Drive or Google Photos available to other Google services (for example via Personal Intelligence, AI Mode, Search or Gemini Apps) may see ads personalized using that data. Google and Android Authority note advertisers do not get direct access to the raw content or personal identifiers, and users can disconnect apps or disable Personalized Recommendations in Search settings to avoid such targeting.
