Yelp adds 'Check for Me' voice agent to call restaurants and check wait times
Yelp is rolling out a 'Check for Me' feature in its app that uses an AI voice agent to call restaurants on users' behalf to check wait times (users provide party size and phone number and get a text with the result). The update also brings OpenTable booking integration, 30-day chat history and personalization for the Yelp AI assistant, user list features, weekly recommendations coming next month, and a new paid business product, Smart Lead Reply ($30/month) to automate and qualify customer inquiries.
