Google will migrate Gemini’s “Gems” to unified “skills” on Nov. 17, 2026
Google says it will shut down the Gemini feature called “Gems” and automatically migrate users’ Gems into a new “skills” format on November 17, 2026; existing Gems will remain usable until that date and migration requires no user action. Google notes the skills UI requires entering a forward slash (/) in a task thread to select a skill.
