Sony and UMG sue Suno, allege 'model laundering' in Suno v6
Sony and Universal Music Group have filed a new lawsuit against Suno, alleging that Suno’s v6 music model still infringes their copyrights because it was trained on outputs of earlier models that were themselves trained on unlicensed music. The complaint accuses Suno of 'model laundering' and alleges use of distillation; Suno has said v6 was trained 'from the ground up' with a new dataset that includes user creations but has not detailed the sources.
