Microsoft unveils redesigned Copilot “super app” combining Chat, Code and Autopilot

Microsoft launched a redesigned Copilot app that consolidates Copilot Chat/Cowork (Home), a new Code tab for creating and hosting internal apps, and Autopilot (the rebranded Scout) as a continuous cloud agent. Home and Code will roll out to Microsoft’s Frontier early access program in the coming weeks, Autopilot goes into private preview later this month, and some Code features will be previewed for Microsoft 365 Premium and Pro subscribers this year; usage‑based billing and FinOps for AI will govern agent and model usage.

Microsoft updates Copilot with 'Autopilot' OpenClaw agent and usage-based billing

Microsoft is reorganizing the Copilot app into Home, Code, and a new Autopilot agent built on OpenClaw that will run continuously in the cloud and act proactively for businesses; Autopilot enters private preview in late September. The company is also shifting Autopilot, Code and Cowork to usage-based billing while keeping chat and Office integrations under the standard Copilot license, and adding model-routing and FinOps tools to manage costs.
