Anthropic signs $11.6B, seven-year cloud deal with Akamai; warrant could reach 5%
Anthropic has signed a seven-year cloud agreement with Akamai Technologies worth $11.6 billion, and received a warrant for up to 5% of Akamai stock (2% tied to the current contract plus up to 3% if the deal expands by up to $9 billion), Reuters reports. Akamai said it expects about $5.5 billion in capital costs and roughly $1.7 billion in additional spending before end-2026; Anthropic has also recently committed $45 billion in capacity from Nscale and has reportedly closed roughly $517 billion in compute deals over the past eleven months.
