PhAI Labs publishes JEPA-Anything, a JEPA-based universal world model across physics to biology

Researchers led by PhAI Labs (with collaborators at Stanford, Oxford and Princeton) introduced JEPA-Anything, a Joint-Embedding Predictive Architecture that predicts multiple partial future-state embeddings instead of a single summary. The model outperforms a same-architecture JEPA baseline on diverse tasks (physics, robotics, weather, chemistry, single-cell and clinical data), discovered a near-exact numeric match to Kepler's third law in a trained run, and highlighted an IL-18 plus CD73-blockade combination that showed stronger anti-tumor activity than either component alone in organoids, patient tissue samples and mice; code and models are publicly available and the authors caution that causal interpretation and clinical utility remain unproven.

Stanford/Caltech team connects GPT-6 Astra directly to a Unitree G1 to tidy unfamiliar kitchens

Researchers at Stanford and Caltech built HomeBody, a system that lets a Unitree G1 robot explore an unfamiliar kitchen, build a digital twin in Nvidia Isaac Sim, and use GPT-6 Astra as a vision-language model that calls an extensible skill library to grasp, navigate, and open drawers so it can tidy and fetch items. The setup drops the usual trained control layer—Astra plans and self-corrects steps using spatial memory, but the team reported practical limits including latency, overheating finger servos, and high compute costs; the code is available on GitHub.

Anthropic says Claude autonomously found a novel enzyme system in bacteriophages

Anthropic reports that nearly 950 Claude agents analyzed 210 million tokens over 21 hours and flagged an unusual repeating pattern that led to the identification and lab validation of a previously uncharacterized enzyme system in bacteriophages; the company compared the system to CRISPR but says its function and practical applications remain unclear. Anthropic says scientists limited their role to the initial prompt and follow-up lab work and published the early result to demonstrate Claude's capabilities.
