Qualcomm announces Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Elite Extreme Gen 6 with on-device AI up to 30B MoE
Qualcomm unveiled two flagship smartphone chips — Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 — that emphasize on-device AI. Both include new sensing hubs that can run models up to ~200 million parameters (for always-on personalization), while the Extreme variant can run a 30-billion-parameter mixture-of-experts model locally; the chips also add camera, audio, and pro-video features (including APV codec) and are already slated for use in Motorola’s Signature 27.
