Google expands AI & Economy research team, adds Philippe Aghion, Ajay Agrawal, Anu Madgavkar, and Daniel Rock
Google has expanded its AI & Economy Research Program—after launching the open-access AI & Economy ATLAS v1.0—by naming Philippe Aghion (2025 Nobel Laureate) and Ajay Agrawal as academic advisor and visiting fellow, respectively, and appointing Anu Madgavkar and Daniel Rock as directors to lead empirical research on AI diffusion, labor, productivity, and science. The new team will work alongside internal leads including Alex Imas and Zanna Iscenko and will inform future ATLAS updates and related empirical projects.
