Typesafe’s Jev becomes fastest-adopted model on Vercel gateway

Vercel data shows that Jev, a lightweight decision model from Typesafe AI released in limited form on Sept. 15, was used by 35% of paid teams within two weeks—nearly double the reach of the next model, Sonnet 5.5. Vercel, which used Jev to replace GPT-6 Luna for some harmful-command classification, cautions its gateway data may undercount providers that run their own APIs; the report also notes open-source models now account for over 70% of tokens on Vercel and about 25% of spend while frontier-lab spending has grown tenfold.

AlphaDiana: a measurement system for agents in verifiable reasoning tasks (arXiv:2610.20675v1)

AlphaDiana is a modular measurement system that links agent execution traces, resource records, and answer correctness while preserving harness-native control loops. The paper (arXiv:2610.20675v1) demonstrates macro analyses and micro interventions across three open-source models and three open-source harnesses on five answer-based benchmarks (and two interactive benchmarks for two models), finding that harnesses and component interventions (tools, skill guidance, retained memory) do not reliably improve accuracy and that execution/ token metrics must be interpreted alongside correctness.

Ramp AI Index: US business AI spending falls while usage rises; OpenAI and Anthropic split token share

Ramp economist Ara Kharazian’s Ramp AI Index finds US companies are spending less on AI while usage has climbed about 50% since a July peak and hit a record high at the end of September. Kharazian attributes the spending drop mainly to competition and price cuts from OpenAI and Anthropic; in the last week of September Anthropic accounted for 51% of token spending and OpenAI 44.5%, while open-source models remain under 5% of spending.

Snap launches 'Specs Intelligence' AI assistant in iOS preview, coming to Mac and AR Specs

Snap introduced 'Specs Intelligence', an anticipatory AI assistant that can connect to users' digital accounts to surface relevant info and actions; it's available in preview on iOS, will offer a full early‑access experience on Mac via a waitlist, and integrates with Snap's new Specs AR glasses. Snap says the service uses a mix of US‑hosted open‑source models and local LLMs and that personal content from connected accounts will not be used to train its models or serve personalized ads.
