Over Halloween weekend some Grok Bot users found their weekly usage rates suddenly maxed out; Elon Musk confirmed on X that this was intentional, saying, “The cost of serving Grok Bot was unsustainably high relative to revenue.” SpaceX has positioned Grok Bot in its renamed Super Intelligence division, which the company said in a recent filing accounts for 52% of AI-related income and reported a $431 million profit before one-time costs tied to the Cursor acquisition.
