University of Kentucky administrator secures religious exemption from using AI at work
David Durman, a nontheistic Humanist and administrator at the University of Kentucky, secured a workplace religious accommodation allowing him to abstain from using AI tools; the American Humanist Association assisted and the university said the accommodation still lets him perform his essential duties. Durman is reportedly the first Humanist to obtain such an exemption and said he was inspired by software engineer Erin Maus, who previously won similar protections.
