Google-hosted Colorado Impact Hackathon winners develop AI tools for grid resilience
Google held the second annual Colorado Impact Hackathon at its Boulder offices in partnership with CU Boulder and the Colorado Energy Office; student teams presented AI-based energy projects. First place went to SolarSnap, an AI app that uses phone cameras to help homeowners design solar installations; second was Grid Watch, an AI-managed battery network for wildfire shutoffs and cost reduction; third was Grid Guard, providing predictive grid-hardening capabilities.
