Reddit says it will transition its site to a primarily logged-in experience to counter AI-driven search changes
In its Q3 earnings report Reddit said it will transition to a primarily "logged-in experience," starting tests in select non‑U.S. markets in Q4, to protect content from AI scraping and pursue licensing deals with model providers. The company reported 130.3 million global daily active users in Q3 (U.S. DAUs down to 50.7 million), said search referrals fell by over 1 million per week in October, and highlighted stronger monetization with revenue of $895 million and net income of $283 million.
