OpenAI unveiled dots, an always-on personal assistant available in the ChatGPT desktop and mobile apps for Pro-tier subscribers (plans from $100/month). The agent, explained by enterprise product lead Alexander Embiricos, reframes existing model capabilities (including earlier coding tools like Codex and ChatGPT Work) into a persistent, proactive assistant with a "proactive research" feature and ChatGPT-equivalent privacy controls such as the option to disable model training.
