Developer: AI-built PhotoCraft Adobe clones ‘not anywhere close to ready’
Brandon Thomas released PhotoCraft — an open-source suite of seven Adobe-like apps generated with Claude Opus 5.5 (Rust + WebAssembly) — but the project’s ROADMAP.md, issues and user reports show it is still alpha. The repo (MIT/Apache) claims ~76% feature breadth but only ~45% readiness for real work, estimates beta at 1,100–1,800 Opus agent hours and full parity at 2,300–4,100 hours, and records heavy activity (2,152 commits, 1,004 merged PRs, ~539k Rust lines, 317 contributors; Claude appears as a commit author 277 times).
