OpenAI adds Locked Chats to ChatGPT so users can PIN-protect conversations
OpenAI began rolling out a Locked Chats feature in ChatGPT that lets users move conversations into a separate section protected by a four‑digit PIN or device biometrics (Face ID/Touch ID). Locked Chats are distinct from Temporary Chats, have a separate Memory that won’t update regular Memory, and do not provide end‑to‑end encryption or change retention or model‑improvement settings; rollout excludes ChatGPT for Healthcare and some chat types.
