Eric Schmidt reportedly owns about 1% of Anthropic, roughly half CEO Dario Amodei’s stake
Bloomberg reports Eric Schmidt invested tens of millions in Anthropic’s 2021 Series A and now reportedly owns about 1% of the company, compared with an estimated 2% held by co‑founder and CEO Dario Amodei; PitchBook data put Anthropic’s Series A valuation at $461 million. If the estimate is accurate and given some market estimates that value Anthropic as high as $2 trillion ahead of a possible IPO, Schmidt’s stake could represent a significant windfall; Schmidt invests through entities including Tomorrow Ventures, Innovation Endeavors Management and his family office Hillspire.
