Microsoft launches Guardian Agents to monitor and limit enterprise AI agents
Microsoft introduced Guardian Agents, a new feature in Project Perception designed to monitor agentic AI used by enterprises, add detection to Microsoft Defender for dozens of agent types, and enforce limits such as human approval for risky actions. The move follows CEO Satya Nadella’s warning that frontier models can’t be trusted and is positioned to give cloud providers independent oversight over third‑party agents.
