Norforge finds Cairn AI agents used to breach 100+ websites including John Deere and SharkNinja
AI security firm Norforge discovered exposed instances of the open-source agent platform Cairn that were used by a hacker to breach over 100 websites in multiple countries; Reuters reports affected organizations included John Deere, SharkNinja and Cummins. Norforge found more than 20 likely‑malicious Cairn instances, one attacker’s intrusions took roughly 23 hours, and Cairn’s creator said the platform was not intended as a hacking tool.
