ICANN announced 1,615 applications for new top-level domains from 481 applicants; a notable portion target AI-related strings. Multiple companies — including OpenAI (15 TLDs applied), Meta (21 TLDs), Anthropic and Bluesky — filed for generic and branded AI-themed domains such as .agent, .agi, .asi, .chatgpt, .openai and .anthropic; final approvals are expected next year.
