LibreOffice says 'no AI' will remain in the default install
The Document Foundation announced it will not add AI features to LibreOffice's default installation for the foreseeable future, citing a deliberate design decision to keep processing and user data on-device and avoid mandatory networked services. The foundation said users who want AI can install extensions (including ones that connect to local models) but current integrations do not meet its criteria for inclusion.
