8th graders at Carriel Junior High used Google Gemini to build first school newscast
Eighth-grade students at Carriel Junior High in O'Fallon, IL launched the school's first newscast, 'The Cougar Rumble,' using Google’s Gemini alongside Google Docs and Slides to generate logos, refine a brand kit, polish scripts, and organize shot lists. Teachers report the tools acted as creative partners that expanded students' ability to brainstorm and iterate rather than replacing their creativity.
