OpenAI unveils GPT-6.1 Sol, Agents API 'computer use', cloud Codex, and Decisions API at DevDay 2026
At DevDay 2026 OpenAI announced GPT-6.1 Sol (an update to GPT-6 Sol aimed at coding and professional tasks), expanded Agents API support so agents can operate software via graphical interfaces, cloud-based Codex environments and CLI updates, a limited-preview Decisions API using the smaller Luna model for selecting predefined answers, and expanded ChatGPT plugin capabilities plus new persistent-agent features (Dots) and a shared workspace (ChatGPT Space). OpenAI said GPT-6.1 Sol approaches GPT-6 Astra on several evaluations and is priced at about one-fifth of Astra’s standard I/O token prices, with cached input costing $0.10 per million tokens; some features are available only on selected plans or limited preview.
