Verge investigation: Kevin O’Leary’s Stratos “Wonder Valley” AI data‑center project stalled after Utah backlash
The Verge’s Josh Dzieza reports on the months‑long saga around Kevin O’Leary’s Stratos (branded Wonder Valley) proposal — a planned 40,000‑acre, multi‑gigawatt AI campus in Utah — which provoked intense local opposition, political pushback, and legal fallout (including a defamation dispute involving Fox News) and has effectively stalled the project. Dzieza frames the episode as part of a wider backlash to the AI infrastructure build‑out and a case study in how local democracy can block large tech developments.
