Barclays expands deployment of Anthropic's Claude across the bank, targets 50% developer adoption by end of 2026
Barclays is deepening its strategic collaboration with Anthropic to roll out Claude across its global operations to accelerate software development, modernize legacy systems and improve operational efficiency. The bank expects Claude Code adoption to reach 50% of its developer population by the end of 2026 and a majority in 2027; existing Claude-powered uses include a Colleague Knowledge Assistant (16,000 users, >1M searches) and Global Markets tooling that processes ~120,000 emails per day, and Barclays says it will couple deployment with strong governance, security controls and human oversight.
