OpenAI and Meta prime cute AI agents for consumer hardware with Dots and Muse Charm
OpenAI debuted Dots, a personalizable AI agent platform, and — per a public filing and reports involving designer Jony Ive — is working on hardware that won’t ship earlier than February 2027. Meta is tying its Muse agent to a pendant-like Muse Charm device that it aims to launch in time for this year’s holiday season; both companies appear to be soft-launching agents in software first to build demand for physical devices.
