OpenAI reports ChatGPT reaches 1.2 billion weekly users as ARR nears $70B
At DevDay OpenAI said ChatGPT now reaches more than 1.2 billion users weekly and reported over 35 million weekly ChatGPT Work and Codex users plus 2.5 million businesses using its products; Axios also reported OpenAI is nearing a $70 billion annualized revenue run rate. The company attributes growth to enterprise sales and aggressive price competition around its GPT-6 family (including newly launched GPT-6.1-Sol), while rival Anthropic’s ARR was reported at about $65 billion and it may be preparing an IPO as soon as November.
