OpenAI adds app-like plugin extensions and automations to ChatGPT
At Dev Day OpenAI announced plugin extensions that let developers build app-like experiences inside ChatGPT — including interactive sidebar panels, file viewers and the ability to host plugins on ChatGPT Sites. The company also launched a Plugin Creator tool, streamlined submission and discovery flows, improved plugin ranking and permissions, and added support for the MCP Events specification to enable event-triggered automations.
